Autobiography

My first writing experience I had was in second grade. My teacher instructed us to write a short fictional story, her only rule was to use our imaginations. Whoever had the most creative story got to publish it in our school library. I was determined to win. My imagination took over; two brothers where roaming through the forest, on their travels they ran into a dinosaur. It became their good friend. I went into detail about their discoveries and fun times. The next day it was announced that I was chosen out of my class, I had won.  I went and designed the cover and the pictures for my story. I was so proud of myself.

As I got older I enjoyed writing.  That experience gave me confidence in myself as a writer. For awhile, when I was about fifteen years old, I would write about things in my life and turn it into fictional stories.  Since then, I haven’t been writing like I used to.  I like it, but it’s no longer a hobby of mine.  When I do assignments for classes I’d rather write my thoughts on paper first and then type it out. Usually, when I’m on the computer I can’t stay focused on my work. I plan to overcome this and become more fluent in my typing skills.

  1. Thanks for the info--glad you've had some good experiences writing!, if you feel more comfortable starting a writing project on paper, that's just fine. You need to get to the computer eventually, to make it easier for everyone to read what you've written, but you can do the whole composing process on paper if you want, and only type a final version.
