Paragraph

On an average children watch up to four hours of television every day.  There are many negative aspects to this. One main problem with children watching too much television is there not getting enough social time with family or friends (Manali oak). Other big issues in today’s society are inappropriate conflicts on television such as, violence, drug abuse, and sexual content. Although these programs are only intended for adult vision, many children are watching as well. When a child views violent acts, some will act out in, or out of the classroom by screaming, hitting, biting, and even spiting. Violence also includes horror movies, which may frighten younger children, and bring on horrific nightmares. When you’re that young you may not understand what’s fiction and nonfiction. Studies have shown viewing sexual content early on in age leads to having sex prematurely or participating in sexual acts earlier than those who don’t watch this (Nemours). Today drug abuse is widely spread throughout television, whether it be, alcohol, cigarettes, marijuana, ext.  In another study it was shown that kids that watch more than five hours of TV a day are more likely to pick up smoking. If children view this material on TV, they have an understanding of it be acceptable. It’s viewed as being cool
